Appliances small pic

It’s a good idea to update your kitchen appliances if they’re more than 10 years old or in poor condition. You don’t need to buy the most expensive appliances available, but new ones will always make a better impression than outdated ones.

The condition of your appliances will have a big impact on buyers’ perceptions of your entire home because buyers tend to equate poorly maintained appliances with a poorly maintained home. For that reason, it’s well worth spending $500 to prevent a potential buyer from having a negative reaction to your shoddy appliances. It’s also much less expensive than remodeling your entire kitchen.

Use common sense and make sure your kitchen appliances are consistent in color. Stainless steel is a simple solution because it’s neutral and will easily match other colors. If an older appliance is in good working order but needs a more modern look, it can be freshened up with a simple application of enamel spray paint. If you undertake this task on your own, be careful: Done incorrectly, your “improvement” could end up being much more costly and difficult than you’d bargained for.
