The benefits of belonging to a true trade organization are countless. In southwest and south central Michigan, home staging is realitvely new on the scene. There are stagers popping up here and there, some are trained some are not, some are insured, some are not, some are ethical and some are not. I belong to the Real Estate Staging Assocaition or commonly referred to as RESA. I belong because I understand the benefits of a legitimate organization that brings industry standards and ethics to a profession. RESA is just such an agency, but this is not all that they do. RESA is open to all Stagers regardless of designation or affiliation. They are committed to advancing professionalism and excellence in real estate staging through collaboration with each other, with agents as well as other trades associated with home staging. RESA is very committed to continuing education as well which benefits the community of agents and homeowners so that quality, well informed home stagers are preparing properties for market.
The most recent experience I had with RESA wasn't even one I was expecting. An agent from my area called RESA to check out how to come into contact with a stager. Even though the agent was able to search for home stagers for his area, he wanted to check what he could expect from a RESA Stager or RESA PRO. Shell Broadnax, CEO of RESA, gave him my name, he called, we collaborated and to date I have received a staging lead a day, yes 4 appointments in 4 days.
I truly believe that being affiliated with a quality trade organization improves the value of my staging company. I had no idea how far RESA would reach to not only support me personally but also the home owners/sellers, real estate professionals and the home staging industry. They mean it when they say "We see our role as leading the charge toward standardized education for all stagers regardless of their training background. RESA approved status will serve to raise the bar, elminate "fly by night" training and create unity amongst all approved training organizations."
I am very proud to be a RESA-PRO stager and am equally proud to be associated with the Real Estate Staging Association.
