Karen, this is a great summary. I agree with you to have a home decorated for holidays. It gives the house the "HOME FEELING" if it is decorated neutrally - without personal pictures ornaments. The ornaments should not distract buyers to look at each of them rather than focusing on your house. Happy Holidays to everyone!

I think it's expected in most cases that there will be some decor for the holidays Kate. You did a great job of explaining how to stage while selling during the holiday season. To me it makes the home warmer when it's dressed appropriately for each holiday - not too much but elegant and simple like you said.

Laurie, Thanks for the Picasa info. I will have to try the "fill light" feature. I was actually checking out Picasa the other day, it is rather inexpensive but can do many things.

Excellent list of suggestions, Kate! Another tip is to use photo enhancement programs like Picasa to adjust the light in pictures. That "fill light" feature is a lifesaver!
