Think of your driveway and walkways as extensions of your welcome mat. Keeping these areas clean and unobstructed makes a good first impression on buyers and adds to your home’s curb appeal.

Before you put your house on the market, take a good look at these areas for any signs of wear and tear. Cracks should be repaired, and if your concrete looks faded and worn, power washing can give it a just-poured look in no time. If you don’t have a power washer, you can rent one for a reasonable cost at your local home improvement store. But cleaning these areas is just the beginning.

Trim grass edges and remove any weeds that may be growing alongside or in-between sections of concrete. Create a clear path to the front door and garage by removing any clutter from the walkways and driveway and parking your cars in the garage. Unsightly items like an over-the-garage basketball hoop should be taken down. Garbage cans and hoses should be stored in discreet areas out of sight.

Following these steps will create a clean and inviting path into your home.
