Kitchen Make Over For Less Than $7000

    Before

    After

Today’s buyer isn’t just looking for a deal, they are looking for properties in turn key condition. This kitchen had good bones but was dark and dated. For less than $7,000, Styled and Sold Home Staging added all of the bells and whistles:

    • Granite counter tops,
    • Updated track lighting,
    • Buyer friendly paint colors
    • Stainless steel appliances
    • Easy to install/eco friendly cork floors
    • Neutral window treatments

The cabinets were basically sound and only needed a fresh coat of melamine paint and updated hardware to make them sparkle and bring themup to date. Home stagers know the best ways to renovate cost effectively.

The house sold to the first buyer who saw it, the first dayon the market!

Wow, what a difference Allegra!  Can you break down some of your costs on this project?  It is amazing that you came in under $7,000.  It seems like the granite countertops alone would have cost you $5,000 - $6,000.  How many appliances did you have to replace?

    Thanks for sharing.

    Dan,

Home Stagers are notorious bargain hunters and know how to get the best prices.Big Smile They take the time to research and do their homework and establish relationships with trades. Many stagers get discounts available to the trade only and also discounts due to volume. (Another reason to hire a professional)

We replaced the refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and gas stove. The sellers did the painting themselves.

Again, spectacular job!!  I don't know how much the home owners spent staging the rest of the house, but because the home sold so quickly, at close to asking price I'm assuming, the $7,000 investment in the kitchen alone MORE than paid for itself.

Thanks Dan. The sellers had a budget of $12,000.00 for the whole house and we spent every penny. The kitchen was the biggest investment. The house actually sold for full asking price and it was 7% more than the  Realtors originally felt they could get. So it did indeed more than pay for itself. Not mention less time on the market is priceless.

Thanks Lynn, I love the cork too. It's more affordable then Pergo and so much warmer and eco friendly. Installation was very easy. I think cork is so underused in this country. You drop a plate on the floor and it practically bounces!

Thanks Judy! It certainly helped sell that house the first day it was on the market and for full price. Staging is a great investment that pays!

Absolutely fantastic. I consulted on a home yesterday and the kitchen was the focus.

The owner needs new countertops and new appliances so this is a perfect example for her.

I've forwarded your makeover to give her inspiration!
