    Re-model Kitchen For Home Sale

By changing the counter tops and painting the cabinets, we have taken this ordinary kitchen and transformed it to a modernized kitchen. The cabinets were painted with galvanized paint that was sprayed on and new hardware was added to them. There is also a small wine cooler that was installed underneath the island with three pendant lights installed above the island. Also, there is a new sink and faucet.

The cost for this entire job was less than $7000.

Prior to updating the kitchen, the seller was not getting any showings, now since the kitchen has been re-done, the seller is now getting 1-2 showings a week.  People were so impressed by the look we have gotten two more jobs and the homeowner was thrilled.

    Detailed Cost

    Demo work                                                    $250

    Granite including installation                         $3400

Sink free with granite but faucet was            $200

    Hardware (handles)                                      $590

    Painting cabinets                                          $1000

    Pendant                                                        $45 a piece

    Cabinets for Island                                        $800

    Wine Cooler                                                  $300

    Total cost                                                     $6675

Sue - simply gorgeous and I am glad you provided the detailed cost it shows that remodeling a kitchen to make it look beautiful doesn't have to cost a fortune.  Very nice job and it is simply so much more inviting and modern.  Great job.

Absolutely gorgeous. Owners are so reluctant to paint kitchen cabinets and black/ dark grey is always a great look but often hard to sell to the owner.  I recently had a staging with a very boring kitchen. My suggestion? Paint the cabinets black and change the hardware. It looked fantastic.

Thanks for showing how easily you can go from flat to fantastic!

    HI Sue,

The first kitchen is nice. Bright. Airy. Lots of buyers would swivel their head around and  say, "Nice kitchen."

But the second kitchen, well, that one imparts something entirely different. It says "fresh", "sophisticated", "dinner party", "gourmet". It makes you want to TOUCH everything, stand behind the island and try that kitchen on for size!

Honestly, it is one of the most dramatic before and after pics I have EVER seen. And the color on the cabinets is so perfect. Beats the beans out of expresso brown paint, and exalts the stainless steel elements.

It's exquisite how you stretched that seller's budget for maximum impact!

    Sue,

Loved that you included the prices like that!  Wonderful renovation.  It looks like it costs triple that amount!  what is the color you used for the cabinets?  Beautiful.

This is a fantastic transformation. The galvanized paint is something new and it looks great. Amazing what a little paint will do! Great work Sue and Laura
