Neutralizing Bold Color Choices--A Staging Compromise

This kid's bedroom was painted orange and teal. My intial recommendation was to re-paint the entire room. The paint proved difficult to cover, so due to time constraints the homeowner opted to just re-paint the orange above the chair rail. I was challenged to find something in my staging inventory that would work with the teal color scheme. The other obstacle was furnishing the room on a limited staging budget (with an existing box spring). An air mattress, small particle board table and a few accessories proved inexpensive additions. Now buyers can see how charming the room can be despite the bold color choice!

What a difference a coat of paint makes! Look at how big  and bright the room appears to be now. That's what it's all about.

    Linda,
This is a great compromise. I recently had a bold blue paint "challenge". The owner was NOT going to paint. We found common ground in white bedding and accessories. There is ALWAYS room for compromise. Thanks for giving us a great example!
