Look at your roof and gutters from the street. If shingles are missing or broken, have your roof inspected to find out the extent of the damage. Never try to disguise roofing problems. Repair the individual shingles before it becomes necessary to replace the entire roof. If buyers see a roof that appears to be damaged, they might think your home has had extensive water damage. If there is a fundamental problem with your roof, call a roofer and inspector.

Fix any gutters that are bent, broken off or in disrepair. If the gutters aren’t in good shape, buyers might be concerned about water or hail damage to your home. Obvious damage to the exterior of your home will make buyers look more critically at everything else. You don’t want to receive a big surprise when the buyer’s home inspector arrives.
