  • Re: Is Gravel A Good Solution To Grass Problem?

I'm sure it would look great, but a landscape architect ain't cheap and neither are the rocks, not to mention the upkeep (weeding rocks is not fun). There is a better, more attractive and desirable solution to buyers that can be had for 2 cent a square foot. I am going to assume you have dirt there under that tree. And that you can reach that

  • Re: Attracting Buyers to a Very Slow Sales Area

I believe THE most important thing you can do to attract people to do a double-take on your listing is to create killer curb appeal. Nearly every person who is looking for a home in your area will eventually view your listing, since most all buyers look on the internet to search for homes. You will get one chance with one main picture of your exterior

  • Re: Re-model Kitchen For Home Sale

HI Sue, The first kitchen is nice. Bright. Airy. Lots of buyers would swivel their head around and say, "Nice kitchen." But the second kitchen, well, that one imparts something entirely different. It says "fresh", "sophisticated", "dinner party", "gourmet". It makes you want to TOUCH everything, stand

  • Re: Kitchen Remodel Ideas?

Hi Bakergirl, From what I can see, I would only suggest the counters be replaced. Shop around for something creamy, and don't get too hung up on replicating the exact perfect look you have in your head. ANY cream-like upgraded product will work just fine with your wood and flooring, be it real granite or man-made composite quartz. Ask MANY contractors

  • Re: Preferred Color of Hardware for Home Buyers

I concur completely with Karen. Here's a visual I whipped up that might help: You should factor in the color of your appliances and all the other fixtures you have going on. For white, cream, or stainless appliances and nickle, silver or pewter fixtures, , I'd go with the nickle color. Especially for selling. Antique Brass is great on a house

  • Re: Furniture Solution for Dining Room - Please

Hmmm. I think you need to see my dining room! As the daughter of a decorator, and a home staging business owner myself, cheap chic is my middle name. Two solutions for that dining room would I consider: Solution #1 This is cheapest: Take $200, a small truck and an afternoon, and hit all the thirft stores in your area. Buy a chunky round table regardless

  • Re: How Do I Get Paint Stains Out of Carpet?

Hi Ali, There is a water soluble version of Goof Off that I inadvertantly learned removes latex paint (if that is what was spilled). I figured it out on accident. I painted a serving tray black, and grabbed the wrong bottle of spray cleaner to clean it with a few days later. The black latex paint just sloughed right off in one wipe.It was amazing. Now

  • Re: How Do I Fix Uneven Wall Paper

Hi Greg - I am terrible at putting up wallpaper, but those gaps are really, really wide. There isn't much you can do if you have no wallpaper leftover, but if you do, you can perfom a graft. 1. Lay an extra piece of dry wallpaper that is at least as least 8 or 9 inches wider than the gap. Match it up perfectly with your diamond shapes. Hold it very
